Research that proves eye care works
Stichting Seva Europa has a strong interest in research that demonstrates and validates the operational efficacy of eye care interventions. Rigorous evidence is essential not only to improve program quality but to make the case — to governments, funders, and health systems — that investment in accessible eye care is one of the most cost-effective means of addressing poverty and inequality.
Our research agenda
As a newly established foundation, our research agenda is being developed in partnership with European universities and research institutions. Where possible, we will incorporate monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks into our programs, and support or commission research that advances the evidence base for community-level eye care delivery.
European university partnerships
We are actively seeking partnerships with European universities to co-produce research and to train the next generation of global health researchers and ophthalmologists. These partnerships will help ensure our evidence is independently validated, widely accessible, and directly integrated into academic and policy networks across Europe.
Looking ahead
Stichting Seva Europa is building a research-informed approach by embedding data collection into field operations and pursuing funding through European research councils, multilateral bodies, and philanthropic partners. We are actively seeking collaborators in academia, government, and civil society who share our conviction that sight is a human right and a development imperative.
Eye care is not a niche health intervention. It is one of the highest-return investments in global development. Stichting Seva Europa exists to prove it.
